Re: Puddles on motorway

Did all 4 wheels hit the water or just the 2 wheels on one side? Any car is going to shift to some degree at that speed to be honest, even if all 4 wheels hit, as you are having a sudden change in traction and it's never going to be even across the axle. It'll be more pronounced if only 2 wheels on ...

Re: Correct ISO harness for Q spec Granvia?

Cheers Martyn, I'll have a gander tomorrow morning - as it happens I bought the bus home this eve to use as my commuter for the rest of the week, happy coincidence!!

Re: Correct ISO harness for Q spec Granvia?

I did have a quick search and I couldn't spot that anyone else had the 3 connectors - I may have had a man look though. There was one post that was something of a walk through of somebody splicing into the harness, but iirc there were no pics. From diagrams of similar Toyota harnesses online it look...

Correct ISO harness for Q spec Granvia?

Hi folks, I'm having a bit of trouble tracking down an ISO harness for my Granvia - I seem to have 3 connectors lurking behind the stereo area, I don't have the original stereo to check the pins against unfortunately... Does anyone know what harness I need going by the pic below? My van is a Q Spec ...

Re: insurance what a pain

Could be your post code, or profession? There's quite a few things that can impact it. I'm surprised by the price still though. My Isuzu Bighorn import was only £350 last time I insured it with Admiral (about 2 years ago) and I had less no claims than you, and I had a quote not long ago from Adrian ...

Re: Service

I'm guessing it's an auto, so probably worth getting the transmission serviced at the same time if it's not been done in a bit. I'm guessing these have an Aisin box so any good auto gearbox place should be able to do a fluid change plus a filter if there's one fitted. You could potentially change th...

Re: Rear fog light wiring

Apologies for the delayed reply! The item number for the one I bought from eBay is *edited*. It's a 4 wire latching on/off switch. As far as I can see only 3 wires are needed though, as there are 2 wires which feed the same pole on the switch (I pulled my switch apart to have a look inside/fix the t...

Re: Rear fog light wiring

Hi Paul, Will do - it's pretty straight forward, the rear bulbs are twin filament and you're basically over-riding the brake filament to work as the fog light when needed. The diodes are placed in line on the wiring from the brake switch and the fog switch, and they prevent feedback from one circuit...

Re: What's this switch for??

Have you got 4 fog lamps up front (2 sets)? Apparently in Japan by law you can't have more than 2 front fogs (1 set) running at a time. Some manufacturers offered the option of having 2 pairs of front fogs for some reason, and so a switch would have to be fitted that alternates between pairs of lamp...

Re: Automatic Headlights

Interesting to know that! Funnily enough I've been parking my Granvia up against a spare 4x4 I keep, to save space I park up close enough that I can't get out the drivers door so I hop out the passenger side... That'd be why I thought the auto lights weren't turning off! I'll pop the driver's door s...
