Re: Can I drive my 4x4 temporarily as 2wd?

Yeah, my front halfshaft splines were worn and noisy too. Made the RWD decision easy. I can't imagine the chain jumping, it's a large duplex unit. The noise from the slack it would need would be terrible, more likely front splines. Take off the rear prop shaft and centre bearing and it can hang down...

Re: Can I drive my 4x4 temporarily as 2wd?

I know this information doesn't help now, but.... The front axle is always driven and the rear axle is driven via a viscous coupler, which has to 'warm up' before acting. This makes the two 4x4 Granvias that I have basically mostly front wheel drive, this may be due to age of the vehicle though, bot...

Front Seats For Sale

I have the front seats from my Granvia, passenger is manual and driver is electric.
They were in mint-ish condition when I removed them but now they have some dirty hand prints due to where I left them.
Make an offer if you would like them, they are grey.
I will list them on the ebay eventually.

Re: Brake lamp fuse affecting gear change???

It could be using the brake switch for the gearchanges. There is a positive output pin from the ECU when the brakes are applied. Which could mean it's condition is used inside.

Re: Knocking front suspension *fix* & Gearbox Lock-Up

I am an industrial automation engineer by day, but I'm trying to semi-retire into home automation in which I have already completed some systems one of which is a home heating system that controls each room individually. My speciality is cross platform integration, rather than the proprietary offeri...

Re: Knocking front suspension *fix*

Thanks for the welcome. The gearbox lock-up is something I found on American Toyota 4x4 forums when I got my first van. The principle is to force the torque converter to lock at whatever speed you want, not just at 54ish mph. Their solution is to switch power to the wire from the ECU to the lock sol...
