Re: Reverse beeper

You could have the same problem as Acehi41 with his '97 Regius when he reported in the "Disabling the reverse beeper" thread that he couldn't find the beeper: "... and it appears that the beeper is deep inside and probably soldered on to the circuit board." You could try to PM hi...

Re: Workshop manual

The PDF file of the workshop manual for the 1KZTE diesel engine is available for download directly from this Granvia forum - look for the Announcements section of the "How Do I?" forum and the engine manual is at the top of the list.

Re: Ride quality

The harsh ride of the Granvia shows its origins in its design as a commercial vehicle. The benefit is a reliable suspension capable of bearing heavy loads. You can replace the tyres with ones with fewer plies to give a softer ride, but it's always a compromise - you'll have a shorter tyre life and g...

Re: And now Odometer and Speedo also not working

My guess is that there's a fault in one or more of the connections between the instrument panel and the wiring loom. I suggest you remove the instrument panel, inspect the connections and clean the contacts. Then replace the panel and see what works....

Re: Reverse beeper

I don't think there is any way of knowing! You'll just have to pull out the instrument panel and look at the beeper fitted to your panel's circuit board. The details of what you can try are in the thread "How to disable the reversing beeper" in the Announcements section above. If you don't...

Re: Central locking, lights do not flash

On the standard ex-factory Granvia, the lights don't flash! Central locking using the remote or the driver's door lock just locks the doors; the only indication you get is audible - a muffled clunk as the doors lock. Some aftermarket alarms will operate the central locking AND flash the hazard warni...

Re: Airbag light problem

Welcome to the forum! Toyota "Code 12" is "Engine revolution signal missing" (see here: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/toyota-trouble-code-definitions-and-code-gathering-method-1990-1995). I can't see how that would cause the airbag warning light to illuminate - it could be en...

Re: Anyone have a workshop manual in Japanese?

An outfit in New Zealand, JPNZ, made a business out of translating manuals for Japanese cars into english. The english version of the owners handbook for the Granvia is available from resellers on Ebay at around £24. JPNZ had a web-page asking for expressions of interest in a translation of the work...

Re: AP auto gearbox

I have a Vanden Plas 1300 Auto with no electronic trickery Wow! That takes me back! The Automotive Products (AP) 4-speed automatic gearbox was a remarkable design from the mid-sixties for several reasons: - four ratios (plus reverse) was unusual for smaller cars when most automatic gearboxes had on...

Re: questions about converted speedo

First, have you checked that your speedometer and odometer (mileage recorder) actually has been converted from kilometres to miles? You can use a GPS speed meter or the kilometre marker posts in the verge of motorway carriageways. How has the conversion been done? Some Granvias have a device fitted ...
