I have a 1998 2.7 Petrol Granvia. It has a side conversion and pop top roof. It doesn't have any sort of rail to fit an awning to, when I went to an awning supply shop they advised me that it would not be worth having one fitted as when the side door is open it would rip any sort of awning? The guy said the door comes out too far? I am very confused.
Surely someone must have a pop up roof and an awning. The guy at the shop suggested just putting our old tent alongside the van, this is far from ideal.
Has anyone got any advice?
Have you considered fitting the awning rail further up the roof of the van under the overhang of the elevating roof?
This would mean that you could only fit the awning when the roof was up, but that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe you could put the roof down again after fitting the awning if you needed to. (But don't operate the door!)
