Puddles on motorway

Postby granviagra » 05 Feb 2016, 17:21

That's twice at about 60-70 I've gone through a bit of water on motorway and the Granvia veered away to the left. Pretty scary so I've lost confidence in it on motorway in the wet. Anybody experienced this? Maybe 4x4 are better or better tyre required!

Did all 4 wheels hit the water or just the 2 wheels on one side? Any car is going to shift to some degree at that speed to be honest, even if all 4 wheels hit, as you are having a sudden change in traction and it's never going to be even across the axle. It'll be more pronounced if only 2 wheels on one side hit the water.

To be fair though 60-70mph when there's standing water probably isn't the best idea!! Bet you felt it when you hit the water

Yeh I know 60-70 sounds fast but everyone else was going faster with no probs. also I've never g
Had that happen to me in 20 years of driving but now twice in the granvia.
I think I'll put on wet weather tyres and drive at 60 max
