Sound system

Postby PUSHKIN » 01 Mar 2018, 09:04

Have recently replaced the original stereo for a kenwood unit, it just doesn’t seem to have any oomph behind it , before I mooch off and buy something better do the Granvia’s have a good sound as standard , I never found out because I refuse to listen to Chris Evans and the CD player jumped annoyingly !?!?
Another query, where are the speakers because some of mine must obviously be blocked by the camper conversion :-(

My front speakers are in the doors, only 10watt so there's not alot of punch.

factory place could be in the lower dash possibly same wattage.

rear speakers are in the back side panels.

One of my rear speakers is hiding behind the cupboard of the camper conversion. To hear it to full effect - open door!!!

Is there any chance you can help showing photos or steps of how to remove & replace the stereo system? Much appreciated

Hello, not got pictures of the actual work but the wood (plastic) dash console surround just unclips from the dash , I just pulled it starting at the top, the vents come with it and you just need to unclip the hazard switch which then gives access to the 4 screws holding the radio in, once out I took a photo of the connector and matched one up at Halfords , the only other thing I needed were 2 side fillers as the new stereo wasn’t as wide as the original , hope this helps :-)
