Heater temperature

Postby peterb110 » 02 Feb 2016, 20:44

Hiya
I have a 2000 Granvia 3.4 V6 with about 60,000 miles recorded, FSH from new. I've noticed over the last few trips that the heater performance has gone downhill. With the air con off I seem to get warmth for the first two or three miles after that it gets colder! It is always warmer than the outside temp [thank goodness] but not as warm as the setting read out says it should be! The vehicle is running beautifully and the temperature gauge needle is where it has always been! Anybody got any ideas where I should start looking?
TIA
Peter

Might still be worth checking for coolant leaks, Peter. My heater stopped working during the last few miles of an 80 mile trip on Sunday and it turned out that the radiator was shot. The temperature gauge stayed on normal, I presume, because I was doing 70 on the M6 and the engine was being air cooled until I came of the motorway. Graham

Hi, type 'heater temperature' into the search box to see what others have done.
