Engine Management System?

Postby leginsniknej » 20 May 2017, 14:48

I have Toyota Granvia Camper 3litre diesel, which has been out of action for some time, as my local mechanic is trying to discover the problem. The symptoms were poor starting and then poor running. The first thoughts were to disconnect the engine immobiliser, which had been fitted when the van was converted, to no avail. The fuel pump was removed and cleaned and all fuel lines checked. The cut off switch on the fuel pump operated OK on the bench. The remaining thoughts lead to the engine management system, but the connection is of a type not common in the UK. I wondered whether anyone has had any experience of this problem or advice?

There is a free download of the 1KZ-TE engine repair manual here http://www.toyota-granvia.co.uk/download/file.php?id=310
Look under section DI-3 to DI-63 page 95 to page 155 this will give you all the info on engine diagnostics.
