Airbag clock spring is dead! Help!

Postby Ric220 » 13 Dec 2017, 10:07

Hi all. The airbag warning light is on in my 96 Granvia TD and the horn's stopped working. Sod's law the Mot's due next week! The general consensus here seems to be that the clock spring (long ribbon cable connecting the steering wheel wiring to the dashboard) is broken. Mark at BBC Spares doesn't have one in stock. So, does anyone know what other Toyota models (if any) share the same clock spring? Failing that can anyone suggest a way around the problem? Really hope someone can help. Many thanks.
